Responsibilities: General Description of the Position: The MC-12 Contract Aircrew Training (CAT) Pilot and Classroom Instructor is a Subject Matter Expert in Beechcraft King Air 350 PROLINE 21 FMS aircraft operations , responsible for flying King Air 350 modified aircraft and conducting safe and effective flying operations in support of formal ACC MC-12W course syllabi to enable students to accomplish required learning objectives and specific tasks. This position is contingent upon contract award. Detailed Position Description: The MC-12 CAT Pilot works with a team of instructors under the supervision and direction of the Newport News Site Manager to ensure safe and effective flying operations . The Pilot will perform work full-time at the Prime Contractors facilities at Newport News , V A . All Pilot candidates will be pilot type-rated in the Beechcraft King Air 350 with Rockwell Collins P ROLINE 21 FMS , and have an active secret security clearance . P ilots who do not have a KA350 PL21 type rating will be allocated training experience. Aircraft flight mission profiles include pre-flight mission planning, aircrew briefing, step, start, taxi, takeoff and landing operations, and aircrew debrief at KPHF and other locations in support of training requirements. Aircraft sortie profiles include 2 hours of on-station time in approved airspace to support mission requirements. In addition to the specific tasks outlined below, Pilot duties may consist of revision and development of student training lesson plans as syllabus or aircraft procedures change due to mission/event/technical order changes or safety requirements. This includes providing Air Force or contract maintenance personnel with event data to transform training device events into software format for entry into training device s . Pilot candidates must have a working knowledge of all applicable USAF and ACC instructions and publications, Air Traffic Control service and radio calls in accordance with the most current edition of the Federal Aviation Administration Order 7110.65P and local Air Force Base operations directives. Specific Tasks : Prepare flight briefing rooms and classroom s for instruction. Issue any lesson-related student materials. Perform pilot and aircrew duty in KA350 aircraft, and academic instruction as required by the applicable syllabi or training plans. Report any equipment problems to the Training Quality Program Coordinator (TQPC). Provide make-up instruction support to students wh en necessary Provide remedial student training in accordance with the appropriate syllabus or training plan. Coordinate and conduct aircraft preflight training required to support the syllabi. Review aircrew mission desired learning objectives with students in preparation for flying operations. D ebrief all aircraft operational missions in support of syllabus requirements Assist in trend analysis and evaluation as described in AFM 36-2234 and AFH 36-2235, Volume 2. Assist in examination results analysis to support aircrew training objectives . Assist in d ocument ation of a nalysis results in a Training Evaluation Report. Assist in d evelop ment , review, and comparative analysis for end-of-phase and end-of-course critiques. For each student class, p rovide critiques and analysis in desired format to support contract requirements . When required, serve as a flight evaluation board or mishap investigation board witness. Maintain production folders for each course taught. Assist in m aint e n ance of audiovisual library of electronic video and audio files, films, tapes and lesson courseware for all syllabus-required lessons. Assist in m anage ment , maint enance , configur ation and control academic equipment in support of syllabus requirements (i.e., projectors, televisions, aircrew briefing room equipment and materials ). Maintain reference material used in support of academic courseware to include any T.O., reference notes, publications, etc.,o n a unit file server accessible, searchable and organized via a web browser interface. Support m aint e n ance of the Training Tasks List (TTL) database for MC-12 crew training. Assist in the p repar ation of reports and deliverables to the Government as required Keep informed of MC-12 training methods, operations, current TTPs, and USAF MC-12W Program developments Formal Education: Bachelor s degree or higher desired , preferably in related air and space disciplines. Flying e xperience will be considered as a substitute for educational requirements. Pilot and Classroom Instructor Qualifications: Pilots must be FAA BE350 Type-certified and comply with FAA rules and regulations. Pass and maintain a physical examination IAW AFI 10-220 Pilot instructor experience is highly desired . The ability to plan, design, evaluate , and implement training systems Excellent written and oral communication skills Wi llingness and ability to travel on occasion in support of Government requirements Proven excellent leadership, organizational skills and interpersonal skills Strong consultation, facilitation and decision making skills Demonstrated ability to lead people successfully to achieve desired goals Experience in conceptualization and development of new programs Familiarity with online learning and program delivery technologies Clearance Level: SECRET clearance required.
