Our client, one of the world's leading professional services organizations, is seeking a Project Manager Tax - Partnership -Project Manager.
Location: Atlanta, GA
Position: Contract (6 months to 1 year)
  1. Project description: The project is an effort to build and maintain a solution for Partnership tax processing and allocation process. Under U.S. tax rules, a partnership is a flow-thru entity. As such, it does not pay tax - instead, its income is allocated among its partners, who report their allocable share of partnership income on their respective tax returns and pay any resulting income tax on such income. The technical rules governing allocations of partnership income are complex, as are the structure of many partnership arrangements. Specialized software is required to perform such allocations in many situations.
  2. Please give a high level explanation of the application or technology that this candidate would work. Managing end to end solution creation, code development, testing, delivery and implementation of a Tax technology solution.
3. Description of day to day tasks (please be as descriptive as possible).
  • Successfully execute the project to agreed schedule, budget and scope.
  • Perform the relevant project management processes - i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrate advanced technological capability and knowledge to manage a highly technical team and project.
  • Plan for and manage change.
  • Interface and communicate with project team, management and stakeholders
  • Perform gate reviews and quality assurance reviews with all aspects of IT organization and business sponsors.
  • Manage external contracts and suppliers where required.
  • Support development of business cases with the customer team including leading on the potential estimates.
  • Ensure that quality project standards are met as prescribed by IT Services through the effective implementation or use of approved processes, methodologies and deliverables.
  • Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously.
  • Anticipate problems before they occur; defines the problem or risk; identifies possible causes; works with team to identify solutions; selects and implements most appropriate solution.
  • Work in a fast paced, results driven environment where process is necessary and timelines and budgets are paramount.
