Responsibilities: As noted. Director of Hospital Operations / Chief Operating Officer Gouverneur Health, an academic affiliate of NYU School of Medicine and Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, provides high-quality ambulatory care, sub-acute, rehabilitation medicine and skilled nursing services to nearly 300,000 visits annually. We are located in Manhattan's Lower East Side, an up-and-coming area adjacent to the East Village attracting a new generation of students, artists, and business owners. We are expanding to meet community need and will soon complete a $200 million modernization project that includes the construction of a new ambulatory care pavilion for our Center for Community Health and Wellness and the creation of Residence at Gouverneur Court, a next generation level state-of-the-art health facility with 295 sub-acute, medically complex, rehabilitative and skilled nursing beds. Gouverneur is seeking a well-seasoned, highly-motivated health care executive to lead activities and programs related to Gouverneur building operations and to implement facility-wide service improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will direct and provide oversight for all non-clinical operations and collaborate closely with divisional leadership in our ambulatory care and sub-acute, rehabilitation and long-term care product lines. Specific responsibilities will include overseeing our major modernization program, facilities management, maintenance and engineering, bio-medical equipment and central sterilization service, materials management and logistics, information technology, transportation, building services, human resources, environmental safety, security, emergency preparedness, capital projects / planning, and contracted services. Among other projects, the successful candidate will: Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement to optimize performance in all facets of operations and service delivery Pursue a customer service focus with emphasis on our five-star service excellence approach Ensure effective collaboration among divisions to generate, articulate, and execute a shared vision for the facility; foster transparent and successful working relationships among administrators, physician leadership, and medical staff to achieve long-term goals The successful candidate will have at least ten years of management and operations experience; academic degrees in health administration or clinical discipline, business, public health, science or clinical discipline (nursing, etc.), or engineering; experience in healthcare and a thorough understanding of Federal and New York State public health programs and regulatory constructs; an entrepreneurial mindset in order to develop new ideas for the organizations overall direction; a keen ability to think creatively and critically; a proactive, interpersonal, and diplomatic management style; and a passion for our mission.
