The Vice President for Finance and Administration, the chief financial and administrative officer of the College, ensures consistent excellence in the execution of Vassar's financial and business affairs serving as a key steward of its assets, managing risk carefully, and providing wise, timely financial counsel. The Vice President works closely with the President as a member of her senior leadership team and is highly visible to the College's accomplished and dedicated Board of Trustees with four Board committees staffed by Finance and Administration leadership. Along with five department heads, the Vice President oversees the activities of just over 200 staff in Accounting Services; Budget and Planning; Buildings and Grounds Services; Contracts, Risk Management and Insurance; Human Resources, Investments; and Purchasing. This spring, Vassar will break ground on an ambitious $125M science center building and renovation project and the new Vice President will play a key role ensuring the successful on-budget, on-time completion of this tremendous investment in the College's future. Founded in 1861, Vassar is one of the most diverse and selective liberal arts colleges in the nation. It enrolls 2,400 students who are taught by 290 distinguished faculty members. The College employs approximately 810 non-academic staff. Vassar has an operating budget of $158.2 million and an endowment of approximately $800 million.
