Responsibilities: As noted. Systems Engineer About the Job SYSTEMS ENGINEER SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide advanced network, server, and microcomputer support to the agency. Under the supervision of the Information Technology Coordinator, provides technical support, troubleshooting, repairs and installations of server, workstation, and network connectivity equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Appropriate training and experience including A+ and/or Network+ and demonstrated skills in the following areas: 2.Windows Server setup administration including Active Directory. MCP or MCSE preferred. 3.Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 administration. 4.Knowledge of DFS , digital certificates, RADIUS, TCP /IP routing, DHCP, DNS. 5.Networking firewall, routing, switching, wireless, as well as well-rounded knowledge of Cisco, HP, and other common hardware vendors expected. 6.Database administration. 7.Microsoft Office 2010. 8.Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. 9.Excellent and proven communication and human relation skills. 10.Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner. 11.Ability to work effectively in a team context. 12.Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner. 13.Valid NYS Drivers License 14.Vehicle required: Must be safe and dependable. 15.State law mandates that ones personal automobile insurance is directly responsible in any vehicle accident. Cayuga Centers vehicle insurance can legally only supplement damages collected by the other party which exceeds ones insurance coverage. 16.Employees should maintain at least $300,000 of liability coverage for his/her personal vehicle. 17.Cayuga Centers advises that he/she let his/her insurance company know if he/she uses his/her vehicle for agency business. 18.Mileage, Tolls, -and-amp; Parking are reimbursed through agency payroll. 19.Ability to travel to other agency locations as required. HOURS PER WEEK: This is a full-time, exempt salary position. Travel to other agency locations as needed - Including overnight travel. Sunday through Thursday schedule. Flexibility needed depending on projects. On-call and able to report to work as needed or work remotely. FUNCTIONS: 1.Build and maintain Windows Servers in an Active Directory environment. 2.Administer Exchange Servers, Microsoft Office Communication Servers. 3.Maintain and troubleshoot WAN and VPN connections between sites. 4.Configure switches including interface and VLAN administration. 5.Diagnose and fix servers and trouble shoot configuration. 6.Provide support to Coordinator of IT. 7.Completes work orders as assigned in a professional and timely manner. 8.Share responsibility for on-call IT coverage. 9.Maintain security best practices pertaining to implementation and migration projects. 10.Research and provide input on solutions, including in-depth understanding of pros/cons, along with the ability to select the optimal vendor mix. 11.Collaborate with agency staff and departments for changing needs. 12.Work closely with the IT Coordinator and team to lead the engagement lifecycle, including project scoping, Statements of Work, project plans, and service delivery updates. 13.Perform services delivery at agency sites and working remotely, while minimizing interruption to agency systems. 14.Work with IT Coordinator to utilize Cayuga Centers methodology best practices in areas such as change management, service continuity, and continual service improvement. 15.Design and write detailed Standard Operating Procedures for Engineering and IT Outsourcing teams, including standards definition and configuration walkthroughs. a.Attend required training. b.Read required books. c.For supervisors only: Be responsible for having awkward conversations. 16.Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily.
