The Position Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle will lead the revenue cycle functions, playing an active role in the strategic planning processes, interfacing and working in collaboration with the Senior Leadership team and with all departments and functions which require services of revenue cycle. This position evaluates needs, develops and delivers materials, and measures effectiveness of the patient Business Services along with having the proven ability to build collaborative teams across an organization. This position is responsible for the Patient Business Services Department, having 5 direct reports and 300+ indirect reports with varying levels of authority including Admitting and Hospital Registration, Clinic Registration and Pre-Registration, Financial Counseling, Professional Coding, Revenue Integrity, Billing and Insurance Follow-up, Credit and Collections, Charge and Payment Posting, and Customer Service. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have vision, excitement, passion, and patience. Due to the level of this position, the Executive Director will have face-to-face interaction with multiple divisions of the hospital; therefore, excellent communication, time management, political savviness, organization, and interpersonal skills are necessary to succeed. Efficiency and the ability to prioritize goals and objectives are essential. The growth of the system along with healthcare reform has required heightened accuracy and efficiency along with the ability to serve patients in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner; consequently, it is imperative the candidate have proven results with implementing change and supporting goals for a department in an integrated health system. Candidates with experience in a multi-system environment will be ideal however, a candidate with experience in a large standalone hospital could also be successful in this role. Keys to Success Strong interpersonal skills Detailed knowledge of both hospital -and-amp; clinic patient accounting systems, most preferably EPIC Proven ability to build a strong team and lead in significant times of change Knowledgeable about the entire revenue cycle (including systems), in an integrated medical center Creative and willing to push the status quo Experience with similar model of healthcare delivery Education and Experience Required: Masters degree in Accounting/Finance, Health Administration or Business Administration (related fields will be considered) with 5-7 years of supervisory/managerial experience and 3-5 years with a staff of more than 50 in an integrated healthcare delivery system.
