The Hospice Foundation seeks a creative, strategic thinker with vision for their next President and Chief Executive Officer. Established in 1997, the Hospice Foundation is a nonprofit community-based philanthropy funding an array of hospice services to families in Monterey and San Benito Counties. In its 15 year history, the Hospice Foundation has raised given over $20 million to improve and protect the communitys access to end-of-life care. Donations are the source of grant funding that supports local non-profit hospice organizations and providers of compassionate end-of-life services. In 2012-13, the Foundation will provide $1.1 million in grant funding to eleven local nonprofit organizations. For additional information, please visit the web site at . Reporting to a 17 member Board of Directors, the President -and-amp; Chief Executive Officer is responsible for growing the impact and influence of the Foundation throughout the region it serves. The President -and-amp; CEO should have strong organizational and administrative skills and an excellent knowledge of financial management. Experience engaging volunteer leadership and donors in advancing the mission of a nonprofit organization either as a board member or key administrative leader in a nonprofit organization is highly desirable. Candidates should have demonstrated experience with major gift fundraising as well as donor cultivation and stewardship; or alternatively, experience developing high-net worth client relationships and new business capacity in a relevant for-profit field. Strong financial acumen and a career path that has provided opportunities for broad exposure to organizational and fiscal management is required. The successful candidate should have broad knowledge and understanding of the trends and forces shaping philanthropy. A background serving in a high public contact capacity while mentoring and supporting diverse staff is required. A Bachelors degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
