Responsibilities: As noted. The CFO serves as a key member of the Executive Team, and will provide critical support in driving global decision-making and expansion. The successful CFO will be a strong leader with a proven track record, able to thrive in a dynamic environment, and provide thoughtful, solid analysis in aid of important business objectives. This position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, and must display a strong level of working ability with subordinates, peers, and clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory and advisory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate to the industry. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance. Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action. Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President and executives in decision-making. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges. Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline. Continual improvement of the budgeting process through implementation of and education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs. Act to provide analysis and advice on financial implications of any contracts into which the Corporation may enter. Evaluation of the finance structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group: promote staff development on a group and individual basis. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. QUALIFICATIONS Experience, Competencies and Education Masters degree (MA) in Finance/Accounting or equivalent; or ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the automotive industry. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. A well organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills. A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor. An excellent negotiator who is experienced in contracts. A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well versed in systems. Other Skills Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to executives and outside investors.
